A ESCRITA NO COTIDIANO DE TRABALHADORAS E TRABALHADORES RURAIS DE AÇU/RN

Abstract

O estudo visa a compreender como trabalhadoras e trabalhadores moradores do Assentamento Palheiros I, no município de Açu/RN, se constituem histórica e culturalmente e como a escrita faz parte de suas vidas. O material analisado envolveu observações, entrevistas e fotos. A fundamentação teórica se construiu com base, principalmente, em estudos de Bakhtin e em estudos sobre o analfabetismo no Brasil e a educação de jovens e adultos. Buscamos indícios da questão orientadora do trabalho: o que as pessoas fazem com a escrita e o que a escrita faz com elas, no contexto do que sabem, conhecem e desejam. Os conhecimentos das trabalhadoras e dos trabalhadores investigados são diversos e oriundos de diferentes práticas; seus processos de aprendizagem acontecem de modos heterogêneos. Abstract The study aims to understand how workers living in Palheiros’ settlement, located in the city of Açu/Rio Grande do Norte, historically and culturally establish themselves, as well as how writing takes part in their lives. The analyzed data is composed of observations, interviews and photographs. Theoretical foundation is based on Bakhtin’s work and studies of illiteracy and adult education. We search for traces of the study’s guiding question: what people do with knowledge of the written language and how written language affects their lives, in the context of their needs and desires. The knowledge of the male and female rural workers here researched is diverse and derivative of different social practices; their learning processes occur in heterogeneous ways. Keywords: Writing.
