This article discusses the textile pedagogies incorporated in four canvases made by groups of weavers, seamstresses, embroiderers and/or craftswomen who are victims of the Colombian armed conflict in the municipalities of Quibdó and Bojayá (Chocó), Sonsón (Antioquia) and the village of Mampuján in María La Baja (Bolívar). We describe the processes involved in their trajectories of creation, circulation, and appropriation, focusing on the experiences and knowledge that these pieces incorporate and teach through their social trajectories. We argue that the articulation between artisan collectives, testimonial textiles, and their processes of circulation and appropriation result in textile pedagogies concerning the memories of the armed conflict, women’s experiences, and their artisanal knowledge.
