A Model of Business Intelligence Assessment in Telecom Industry

The purpose of this study is to design a model for business intelligence system (BIS) using a mixed approach. At First, reviewing historical researches, the metrics of business intelligence system are extracted. Following; the initial variables are evaluated and selected by qulaitative method and focus group. The population consists of commercial managers and experts in a mobile operator in Iran. As the members of population were available, then all population was the sample. Data gathered by questionnaire, and descriptive statistics and matrix of importance- performance are used for analysis. The results showed that the state of business intelligence system was medium but with different dimensions. Technological and competitors intelligence are in a relatively good level and market intelligence in a medium level. The state of strategic Intelligence didn’t have a good level. Based on importance - performance matrix, Technological, competitors and market intelligence were in thearea of business intelligence strengths but the key weakness was strategic intelligence.
