Feeding in infants of the Clinic number two of the municipality Melena del Sur, Mayabeque

Introduction: the first months of life are determinant for the health of all human beings, at this stage important attention should be paid to the nutritional status to detect dietary imbalances that can affect the state of health in the long term. Objective: to identify the types of food incorporated in infants from four to eight months belonging to doctor's office number two of the Melena del Sur municipality. Method: A cross-sectional descriptive observational study was carried out on the feeding of infants from four to eight months of age located in office number two of the Melena del Sur municipality during the month of February 2023. The universe consisted of 13 infants, but a sample of 11 was used, which was selected through an intentional non-probabilistic sampling. The data was deposited in Microsoft Excel 2016 in a database, the information was organized through tables and graphs. Results: complementary breast milk and malanga puree were used by 8 of the mothers to feed infants from four to eight months of age belonging to doctor's office number two in the Melena del Sur municipality. Exclusive breast milk was only used by 2 mothers in said office. Conclusions: mixed breastfeeding, malanga puree and natural juices were the foods most used in the diet of infants in this study.
