Purpose: Apelin is one of the adipokines that reduce insulin resistance. The purpose of this study was to determine changes in serum level of apelin, insulin, glucose, also insulin resistance and insulin sensitivity index after weeks of high intensity interval training (HIIT) in overweight women. Methodology: overweight women (BMI between ° to 9,9 kg/m), with a mean (±sd) age of 9,00 (±,VA) years, divided into control and HIIT groups randomly. Training group performed * training sessions over A weeks. Each session consisted of \x\'s intervals running at % of their maximal aerobic speed, separated by \'s of recovery. Serum levels of apelin, insulin and glucose was measured before and h after last session. Insulin resistance and insulin sensitivity index was calculated by equation. Statistical analysis was done by paired and independent t-test and P ,·°). Conclusion: HIIT don't have any effect on serum Apelin levels and is not recommended for insulin resistance improvement in overweight women. Although with the low and inconsistent studies in this area, more researches is needed.
