Research on Shunting Protection Function Based on Radio Based Signalling Control System

Abstract

Traditional shunting protection system realizes shunting protection function by setting up special control equipment, which has large investment and complex system structure.In order to avoid repeated investment in new equipment, a shunting protection system based on RBSC (radio based signalling control system) is developed by using the existing communication signal system technology and equipments in Shenshuo railway.The shunting protection system adopts the way of direct communication between RBSC and LKJ to realize shunting protection function. In the system, RBSC calculates the dispatching and prevention information and driving permission according to the station dynamic information sent by interlocking equipment and the train position information sent by LKJ, and sends the calculated information to LKJ through wireless network to control the safe shunting of trains. It does not need to set up special monitoring system and control equipment. It can also make full use of interlocking equipments to shorten the system development cycle. This paper expounds the structure and working principle of the shunting protection system based on RBSC. The feasibility of this scheme is verified by field trial in Shenshuo railway.
