Abstract This resource is a series of simulations to be used with students learning respiratory physiology. Used during a respiratory physiology section in medical school, these scenarios are run in small groups of up to 20 students to reinforce the clinical implications of the basic science learned in the classroom. The simulator and PowerPoint slide show are run simultaneously, using the slide show to introduce each new case, then the next several slides to reinforce the material discussed and summarize the scenario. This package was created at the request of the respiratory physiology section director as a way to incorporate simulation into the curriculum and to reinforce material learned in the classroom. It has been well received for more than 10 years and continues to be incorporated in the curriculum despite a reduction in time allotted to the physiology section. It remains one of the best-evaluated workshops of each first-year class.
