NATURAL RECOVERY OF RIPARIAN PLANT COMMUNITIES PITSUNDA PINE AFTER FOREST FIRES
Abstract
Thousands of people visit the riparian forests near the resort, which significantly increases the frequency of forest fires. Our studies have shown that restoration of the environmental and recreational value of the territory takes place in a much shorter time than a full recovery of plant community. Forest fires even with the death of all adults Pitsunda pines are not a basis for reducing ecological and conservation significance of the site, because there is an active restoration of pine and associated species, including rare and endemic.
