In this study, observations, description and damage form and of Lasioptera sp. which was detected first time on tomatoes in Turkey, were given. The pest was firstly detectded in Erdemli (Mersin). Afterwards, the pest has additionally been determined in Silifke (Mersin), Kepez, Kaş, Demre ve Aksu (Antalya). Damage causes deteriorations and hallows on plant tissue. Damages seems as brown and dark grey coloured in stems and can extend up to 5-6 cm. Control of the pest are thought to be difficult due to feeding in stems, so taking quarantine measures to prevent spread out and carrying out new studies on distribution and control measures of the pest are recommended.
