Factors affecting professional ethics — A study of Young-Working employees in HoChiMinh City

This study aims to: (1) identify individual and organizational factors affecting the professional ethics of employees; (2) analyse the differences among respondents’ awareness of professional ethics; and (3) raise some suggestions regarding to improving awareness and practices of professional ethics. The research findings reveal some salient points. Firstly, there are 3 factors affecting employees’ professional ethics, namely: idealism, organization policies towards ethical behaviors, and peers’ ethical behaviors. Secondly, this study also identifies the influence of 7 factors forming professional ethics awareness of young-working employees. Lastly, there are differences among employees’ awareness of professional ethics, in terms of working fields, working positions, ownerships of organizations, and working experience
