Its relation with theological and legal discussions and health issues caused the necessity for research in this area. This paper first explains the issue of euthanasia and assisted death then answers to this question: Are actions performed on dying person are euthanasia? Finally, it concludes that any form of euthanasia has serious drawbacks and it is forbidden in religious sources. Ending a human life by themselves or others is not acceptable from the perspective of Islam because of extreme dignity of manslaughter and importance of the self-preservation. While assisted death and euthanasia have substantive differences, there is not any intention of ending the life in assisted death. It provides proper conditions for a dying believer to better transition from this world to the Hereafter.
