Советская политика организованной миграции. Пример Молдавской ССР (1940-1971 гг.). Часть I: 1940-1941, 1944-1956 гг.
Abstract
The article represents the first part of an extensive study on the Soviet policy of organized migration. The author focuses on a case study of the former Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic, covering the first year of the Soviet occupation of Bessarabia (1940-41) and the post-war period, 1944 up to 1956. The main sources used for this article are new disclosed documents from the National Archive of the Republic of Moldova, concerning the various specialized institutions that dealt with the organized migration of labour force from the territories of the present day Republic of Moldova to industrial enterprises located mainly in Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. The author gives details not only related to the various strategies to fulfil the plans of labour force, but also to the cadres that worked for the above-mentioned institutions. The article contains data on the specific industries and regions towards which organized migrants from MSSR were directed as well as details pertaining to the restrictions imposed by the authorities, in the majority of cases the migrants being prohibited to take their families mainly because the industrial regions of the Soviet Union had a special regime.
