Plus d’une langue : le sentiment de la langue et ses usages littéraires chez Carme Riera et Ponç Pons

Abstract

The article studies the presence of a feeling for language understood as an affective relationship to it in fictional works of writing of the self: Els ullastres de Manhattan by Ponç Pons and Temps d'innocència by Carme Riera as well as in Les darreres paraules. The cohabitation between the different languages that inhabit them, especially Castilian and Catalan, is questioned, and the question of self-translation in Carme Riera is also touched upon.
