Un gobernador para el Sur del mundo: Felipe Ruiz Puente y los inicios del gobierno español de las Islas Malvinas (1767-1770)

Abstract

This article analyzes from the perspective of a history of forms of government the beginnings of the first Spanish government of the Malvinas Islands. From printed and unpublished sources working in different Spanish archives, the work tries to gauge what the government action of Ruiz Puente consisted of and how it adjusted to the challenges that the Crown faced in the South Seas in its conflict with the English.
