In this paper, an innovative three-dimensional braiding piezoelectric composite actuator (3D-BPCA) is proposed. Based on the 3D braiding technology, the geometric model and representative volume unit (RVU) model of the 3D-BPCA are established. The effective elastic constant, dielectric constant and piezoelectric constant of the braiding piezoelectric composite layer (BPCL) are predicted. The electromechanical properties of the 3D-BPCA under the electromechanical coupling field is theoretically analyzed and numerically simulated, and compared with the piezoelectric ceramics actuator (PZT-5A). Numerical results show that the 3D-BPCA has better actuating properties than the PZT-5A and has a wide application prospects.
