NETWORK-BASED STEGANOGRAPHIC DETECTION SYSTEM IN TCP/IP NETWORK
Abstract
Most existing steganographic tools used to detect steganography are host-based and as such are not capable of reducing the transmission of stego data on the network (Internet) and this study has pointed out that most steganographic misuse occur on the Internet. In this study, we developed a network-based steganographic detection system in Transport Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) network, which is an Internet based network. This tool is designed to work on a server on the network that will allow for the scanning of all messages from the router for stego contents. Network-based Steganographic detection system (NSDS) created an interface for new users to sign up and register an account with NSDS (username and password) and also an interface for existing users to sign in with their username and password. NSDS also pops up an authentication interface anytime a message is about to be sent on the network, thereafter creating a user option for the receiver to either choose to receive stego message or not to receive by clicking on either “ok” to tell NSDS to allow message or clicking on “cancel” to tell NSDS to block the message, and sends a feedback to ... .
