The link between human beings and technology has become one of the most interesting topics in Latin American narrative from the twentieth century onwards. In 2021, the Bolivian writer Edmundo Paz Soldán published his book of short stories La vía del futuro, which is composed of eight stories that are crossed by different technologies, which turn the characters into beings that transcend what is properly human. Two of these stories are set in Latin American countries, especially Bolivia. In this sense, this article aims to analyze the representation of the posthuman in the stories "El señor de La Palma" and "La muñeca japonesa". Furthermore, through these analyses we will reflect on the processes of appropriation of artificial intelligence technologies in these geographic areas that are not favored by the vertiginous global technological progress.
