Abstract

A general view of the current situation of the Venezuelan Bolivarian Armed Force is the overall purpose of this article, centered on an interview with general in chief Raúl Isaías Baduel, former commander of the Venezuelan Army (2004-2006) and minister of defense (2006-2007). The Bolivarian Armed Force and 2007 December 2 elections, the recent military legislation and military officers and politics, are the main topics this essay deals with.
