Abstract: This article explores the Shawy cultural heritage as depicted in the documentary film “Arab Weddings: The Algerian Shawy Wedding” directed by Mohamed El Wali for Al Jazeera Documentary Channel. The study analyzes how the film presents and captures the essence of Shawy weddings. It concludes that the director effectively portrays the intangible aspects of this cultural heritage, while addressing its tangible elements to a lesser degree. By focusing on the customs, traditions, and celebratory rituals, along with the distinctive dress and food, the documentary vividly illustrates the authenticity and identity of the region. Ultimately, it succeeds in providing a compelling representation of the Algerian Shawy wedding. Keywords: Cultural Heritage, documentary film, tangible cultural heritage, intangible cultural heritage.
