Die digitale Benutzung – Transformation von Schulungen hin zu Workspaces

Abstract

After the University Library of the Technische Universität Berlin was shut down in March 2020, the library quickly needed to figure out how to evolve under the conditions of a pandemic. Not only did Covid-19 change the library’s services its users are familiar to, but it also drastically changed the importance of their digital accessibility. Training courses were successfully transferred into their digital equivalent, chat functionalities were expanded and digital learning and teaching materials gained significance.Consequently, it is crucial to reflect on what the online version of a library’s physical learning space may look like. In this article, we share our experiences and challenges during this time. We also provide insight into our thought process on a hybrid learning space that makes individual as well as group work, information services, and social and professional exchanges possible.
