Ensuring protection for LGBTI Persons of Concern

Abstract

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) asylumseekers and refugees face a myriad of threats, risks and vulnerabilitiesthroughout all stages of the displacement cycle. There needs to begreater awareness not only of the specific protection concerns relatingto LGBTI individuals but also of related jurisprudence and guidanceavailable for UN staff, partners, state authorities and decision-makers.
