Hexagonal manganites are multiferroic materials that can exhibit magnetoelectric coupling and electrically conducting domain walls. Here, the authors produce yttrium manganite withp-type conductivity, useful for devices, by using excess oxygen to introduce point defects in the crystal lattice.
