Abstract
Abstract Successful transplastron coeliotomy via a temporary cranial plastron osteotomy can be conducted in turtles to remove foreign bodies lodged in the stomach, using basic equipment. A year later, the turtle was returned to the wild indicating that major surgeries with complete recovery can be achieved in this species.
