« Le livre qu’on nous fait juger ». L’Opinion de Lemercier sur le Génie du christianisme

Abstract

This work is a commented critical edition of Lemercier’s Opinion on Chateaubriand’s Génie du christianisme. The base text is a manuscript preserved at the Médiathèque de Bayeux, « Guillaume le Conquérant » Centre and written by Lemercier in 1811 for an official meeting at the Institut de France concerning the decennial prizes. Variants are taken from the fair copy (1812) preserved at the French National Archives and from the edition published in 1817 by Maradan.
