BENTUK KOMUNIKASI DAN TINDAK TUTUR DOSEN DI MEDIA SOSIAL WHATSAPP PADA MASA PANDEMI COVID-19
Abstract
This study aims to describe the forms of communication and illocutionary speech acts contained in the 50 lecturer’s status of WhatsApp. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The data were obtained through recording screenshoot on lecturer status messages over a period of ten days consisting of 763. The data analysis was carried out using the semiotic theory of communication by Sobur and the theory of speech acts by Searle. The results showed that the form of communication contained in the lecturer’s status WhatsApp consisted of two forms, namely 47% pictures and 53% sentences. The form of illocutionary speech acts contained in status message sentences consists of five types, namely assertive 70%, 15,5 % directive, 13,5% expressive, 0,5% commissive, and 0,5% declarative. The implication is that lecturers' speech during a pandemi is dominant in character, indicating statuses which are reports of certain events. What's interesting is that the topic of the status of these lecturers is not unique in showing themes regarding the Covid-19 pandemi. This indicates that these lecturers lack special attention to the current Covid-19 situation.
