This experience report aims to present understandings and perceptions about the intervention of the members of the University of Vale do Itajaí – UNIVALI “Intergenerational Law and Transversality” extension project with 31 high school students from a non-public school and two teachers from the same institution, which focused on awareness and prevention of violence against the woman. In order to achieve the proposed objective, the planning and the activity (dialogued lecture) carried out by extension workers in the community will be demonstrated. From this experience, it is possible to evidence that the community in which the intervention took place was and is receptive to dialogue about gender violence. Furthermore, in establishing this discussion, we worked with a real and urgent social demand, in which knowledge was shared between the two ends–University and community–, allowing to modify, minimally, the current power relations in society.
