Theoretical and experimental analysis of the lag and advance coefficients in motor vehicle driving wheels
Abstract
The conditions of driving wheels adherence to the ground change constantly during operation and cause the change of wheels dynamic radii on the axle during straight-line motion. Different paths of wheels on different axles in curves and on uneven ground cause the lag and the advance of driving wheels on one axle when compared to the other. Such phenomena give rise to the circulation of parasite power through the vehicle transmission, which can lead to negative effects. The lag and advance coefficients of driving wheels on the TARA vehicle were analyzed both theoretically and experimentally. The compatible analysis of the lag and advance coefficients was done for motions in curves as well as for the straight - line motion with different rolling radii.
