The key to success in treating diabetes mellitus is compliance with treatment. Compliance is an attitude consisting of the willingness or intention to follow health prescriptions, while behavior is related to implementation. Compliance is influenced by several factors, one of which is locus of control. The aim of this research is to determine the level of compliance in terms of locus of control. This research uses a comparative causal quantitative method, using a compliance scale in carrying out treatment and a Likert scale model of locus of control. Based on research, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in compliance in terms of locus of control (F= 3.405 p= 0.038). Subjects who have an internal locus of control have high compliance (X1= 145.35) compared to subjects who have an external locus of control, powerful others (X2= 137.95) and an external locus of control, Chance (X3= 13.87).
