A rare case of hypopharyngeal perforation secondary to blunt trauma: Report of a case and review of the literature
Abstract
Hypopharyngeal perforation secondary to blunt trauma of the head and neck is a very rare and potentially life-threatening condition. We report the case of a 16-year-old teenager who presented with dysphagia and pain 24 h after blunt neck trauma with emphasis on the management of this entity. Less than twenty such cases have been found after reviewing the world literature.
