In the conditions of the mild inland climate of the Czech Republic at an altitude of 350 m above sea level, 11 varieties of apricots were evaluated, mainly a selection from newer varieties of French provenance, namely ‘BergevalTM Aviclo®’, ‘Candide®’, ‘Digat®’, ‘NinjaTM EA 5040®’, ‘SamouraiTM EA 2034®’, ‘Sefora®’ and ‘Tardicot’. Also included in the monitoring were 4 varieties commonly grown in the Czech Republic, which were used as comparative – varieties ‘Bergeron’, ‘Kioto®’, ‘PinkcotTM Cotpy®’, and ‘Spring BlushTM EA3126TH®’. Tree health, tree growth, tree shape and the amount of phenological and pomological traits recorded in 2024 were evaluated. The preliminary results of the evaluation of new varieties are compared with the results of commonly grown varieties. Evaluations from the following years and conclusions will be processed in the next study.
