The maize (Zea mays L.), plant used in human and animal feeding. Need irrigation in places with low rainfall to meet the plant's water needs. But some aspects increases the demand for time and resources, such as pests. Among these, stands out Helicoverpa zea, causing direct damages that can reach 8%. In order to know better the pest and its relation with the use of irrigation and three new corn hybrids, the objective was to evaluate the occurrence of H. zea in such hybrids at different levels of irrigation. The study was done in february 2018 at the Agro-Food Technological Pole of Arapiraca. The planting was manual in separate lines 0,80 m between each other and 0,10 m between plants, each plot contained 5 lines of 5 m length. It was evaluated the hybrids Javi, Jabra and Janor and levels of drip irrigation, medium irrigation of 2,5 mm/day; 5,0 mm/day and 7,5 mm/day. Evaluations were carried out in the grain formation phase, harvesting 10 ears randomly in each plot, to verify the presence of the pest. The experimental design was in DBC with 3 replicates and 3 treatments arranged in a 3x3 factorial arrangement. In the Sisvar software 5,6, the data were transformed into √x + 0.5 and submitted to ANOVA, applying Tukey regression or test to 5% depending on the variable and if the results are significant. No significant difference was found between the treatments, it is concluded that there is no significant difference in the occurrence of H. zea in hybrids and drip irrigation levels studied.
