On the condemnation of Baltasar Garzon as a result of his decision of intervention of communications between some prisoners and their lawyers in the Gürtel case
Abstract
Recently, the Spanish Supreme Court has condemned Baltasar Garzón as a result of his decision of intervention of communications between some prisoners and their lawyers in the Gürtel case. The sentence has provoked opposite intellectual and political opinions in the country. This article tries to emphasize that it is difficult to demonstrate a manifest nonobservance of the applicable law in this case. But also that the legal conclusion at which the court has finally arrived is not surprising.Published online: 01 December 2014
