The Process of Globalization in Romania
Abstract
Globalization means effects on economies, on the environment, on the social, political and cultural life, caused by a phenomenon that acts at a planetary scale. This article aims to explain several dimensions of globalization, which also affected Romania, and, at the same time, it also proposes possible ways to tackle the effects of the globalization process. Before 1989, people who spoke of globalization in our country were referring to the Change of the New International Economic and Political Order or to the New Economic Order and International Politics. Globalization intends to be a solution to the great challenges of the 21st century, such as bridging the economic and social gaps, eliminating poverty and increasing the quality of life for all the inhabitants of our planet.
