Czechs about Specifics of their Consciousness

Abstract

The article discusses some current specifics of Czech population consciousness: their fears and misgivings, attitudes to national minorities and foreigners, living in the country, tolerance to selected groups of population, views on societal structure and social rallyness, prestige of professions, relation to unemployment, adaptation to euro and EU and self-identification on leftright scale of political orientations. The author comes to a conclusion about transitional to Western capitalist type of consciousness.
