The superpowers of the world tend to exploit developing countries for their own needs. Their political hunt to get the products they need from other countries without affecting their country's environment is a big risk to the country that lets them do it. Similarly, shrimp, which is the main food exported abroad, also affects the environment of countries like India. There are many environmentalists and social activists who express this view on spoiling marine life and the world. In present Tamil literature also many writers speak of this issue. One of them is the writer 'Vaimainathan'. His work 'Naali', depicts the attacks on the environment of the shrimp farm. 'Nali' is a term used to refer to a natural drainage that may be located near coastal brackish water. The novel illustrates a system of shrimp farms that destroy natural drainage. In this article, the writer has elaborately explained about shrimp farming. Based on these ideas, this article shows what kind of chemical fertilizers shrimp, referred to as the 'dollar animal', are grown and how those fertilizers make the land infertile. The article also shows how the arrival of shrimp farms in Tamil Nadu was also revealed through the novel 'Naali'. In addition to this, this research is structured to highlight how shrimp farming, and contamination of natural elements such as water pollution, land degradation, and agricultural invasions through the novel 'Naali'.
