Mobilités et discontinuités périurbaines
Abstract
The usual urban structures are currently modified by centrifugal flows During the last thirty years, the greater mobility of population and the increase in commuting have led to deep structural changes in the urban peripheries. A new urban scheme arises where outlying areas increasingly influence the general organisation of the commonly know urban system. In order to investigate this phenomenon, parameters such as personal mobility commuting patterns or planning permissions have been used to study the case of the urban area of Lille. This evolution towards a systemic individualization perfectly describes the transformations which actually affect the outlying suburban areas.
