This research highlight the contradictions in the production of urban space in the city of Primavera do Leste, Mato Grosso, emphasizing land businesses and the spatial implications of a city that has emerged as a major business. It considers a critical perspective of the production of space and puts into perspective the role of capitalist agriculture in the urbanization processes of this and other cities established mainly after the 1970s in the context of the territorial expansion of capitalist accumulation towards the Midwest of Brazil. Based on a bibliographic review, interviews and field work, we analyzed the components of an urbanization still controlled today by a small group of those who have economic and political power.
