The lecture summarizes modern world data on the determination of secondary immunodeficiency (SID), approaches to diagnosis and treatment. The main immunocompromising factors are listed. There has been an increase in the number of immunocompromised patients due to the growth of organ and tissue transplantations, where massive immunosuppressive therapy is prescribed. When describing the clinical picture, a characteristic of the pathogens of the infectious syndrome in various types of SID is given, attention is drawn to the susceptibility for opportunistic infections. In the treatment section, it is emphasized that the main thing in the treatment of SID is adequately selected antibiotics and antiviral drugs that allow patients to survive the period of immunosuppression. Of the immunotropic drugs in some secondary immunodeficiencies, intravenous immunoglobulin is used. An important element in the management of patients with SID is immunoprophylaxis of infections.
