The authors studied the developmental stages of eight species of blue butterflies (Lycaenidae) that inhabit the south of European part of Russia (RostovRegion, Black Sea coast and the Greater Caucasus Mountain Range): Cupido minimus (Fuessly, 1775), Cupido osiris (Meigen, 1829), Pseudophilotes vicrama (Moore 1865), Plebeius idas (Linnaeus, 1761), Cyaniris semiargus (Rottemburg, 1775), Polyommatus corydonius (Herrich-Schäffer, 1852), Polyommatus daphnis (Denis & Schiffermüller, 1775), Polyommatus thersites (Cantener, 1835)
