Evolutionary program in sociology

Abstract

The paper discusses possibilities of evolutionary program in sociology that was neglected for the most part of the 20th century. The reasons for this situation were political, ideological and intellectual. It is argued that sociology can prosper only through intellectual cooperation with evolutionary biology, because Neodarwinian paradigm is one of the most powerful theories in history of science, and sociology must not ignore knowledge that biology provides. .
