Thanks to the commitment of specialists in the didactic and pedagogical fields, especially in the last decade, the scientific arena is witnessing a diversity of contributions, particularly in the area of evaluation. In this article, we aim to underline the peculiarities of summative evaluation, a process that allows the teacher of Italian as a foreign language, in the act of teaching comprehension of the « narrative » literary text through skills, to measure the efficiency of their teaching practice, determine the level of competence achieved, and provide profitable solutions and suggestions in light of the obtained results to encourage continuous improvement.
