Spectral-luminescent characteristics of Tb(III) complex with picolincontaining amide hydroxoquinolinecarboxylic acid (R) have been investigated. It has been es-tablished that intensity of 4f-luminescence of complex Tb(III):R = 1:1 in optimum conditions significant decreases in presence of medicinal preparation progesterone (Prog). The quenching effect has been used for luminescent determination of Prog in forms with the limit of detection 0.17 μg/ml. The Stern-Folmer calibration curve is linear in the interval of concentrations of Prog 0.5–500.0 μg/ml.
