Social Responsibility Standards in the Context of European Integration

Abstract

Contemporary society faces nowadays major changes in perceptions, values and rules. In the‘80’s, many companies and corporations implemented new concepts – sustainability, responsibility andaccountability. Ten years later, Social Accountability International and other similar organizationsconceived and promoted the responsibility and accountability standards – SA8000 and AA1000. Thesestandards help the corporations and the companies to implement better communication campaigns withtheir stakeholders. This paper wants to disclose the contain of these standards and how they areimplemented in the Romanian corporations, in the context of the Romanian European Integration.
