Based on the data obtained in the project ‘Inmigrant Woman, Language and Society: New Perspectives for Integration”, which is being developed in the University of Vigo, we analyse the relations between the use of specific speech acts and the processes of assimilation, adaptation, integration, and cultural and language preservation that inmigrant women show in the host community, and specifically in this case, in Galicia, an autonomous territory from Spain.
