Objectives: The purpose of the study is to determine how Saudi Arabian mathematics textbooks for the second intermediate grade compare to international standards for the International Trends in Mathematics and Science Survey (TIMSS – 2019). Methods: In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the academic year 2019–2020, the study sample consisted of a mathematics textbook for the second intermediate grade. The textbook had (211) pages spread across five chapters, and included (33) topics. An analysis form for the book's content during the second semester was utilized as a tool to accomplish the study's objective. Results: The results of the survey showed that "algebra" had the highest content ranking, followed by "numbers" in second place and "geometry" in third place. In terms of the cognitive dimension, the field of "knowledge" came out on top, followed by the fields of "application" and "inference," respectively. The findings show that there are no statistically significant differences in the fields of numbers, algebra, and there are statistically significant differences in the fields of indicators of requirements for global trends, and there are no statistically significant differences in the two sub-fields of the field of statistics. Also, there are statistically significant differences in the field of application and the field of inference, favoring the ratios of indicators of the needs of global trends. Conclusion: The study concluded that the requirements of international trends in mathematics (TIMSS, 2019) related to all fields should be included in mathematics curricula and books.
