The paper presents results of research on reinforced-concrete flat slabs and basic aspects of their construction technology. In practice of civil construction precast, precast and cast-in-situ, and total cast-in-situ slabs apply. The authors have been developed a new method of design of flat slabs and the reinforcing scheme which allows low cost of construction and raise a load-carrying capacity of conjunction knot of a slab with a column. This new method can be applied for designing of large-span slabs of 6-12 m and more with a thickness of 180-250 mm.
