Venezuela: debate y conflicto en torno a la idea de democracia durante el gobierno de Hugo Chávez (1998-2002)
Abstract
Este artículo forma parte de un adelanto de investigación denominado Espacio Público, participación y militarismo en Venezuela (1998-2002), adscrito al LITEP y financiado por el CONDES de la Universidad del Zulia. A partir de una aproximación teórica a los problemas actuales de la democracia, la ampliación de los espacios de acción pública del ciudadano y los cambios generados por las transiciones en los sistemas democráticos, se analiza el proceso político en Venezuela desde el ascenso al poder de Hugo Chávez en 1998. Se plantea que el fenómeno del chavismo encaja dentro de una transición dentro del modelo de democracia establecida en Venezuela desde 1958, y que asume en su momento actual una serie de modificaciones en el accionar político del ciudadano a través de una mayor presencia en el espacio público, generando los conflictos y dinamismos que se observan en el país en los actuales momentos._________________ABSTRACT:This article forms part of an advance of the investigation denominated Space Public, participation and militarism in Venezuela (1998-2002), attributed to the LITEP and financed by the COUNTS of the University of the Zulia. Starting from a theoretical approach to the current problems of the democracy, the amplification of the spaces of the citizen's public action and the changes generated by the transitions in the democratic systems, the political process is analyzed in Venezuela from the ascent to Hugo's power Chávez in 1998. He/she thinks about that the phenomenon of the chavismo fits inside a transition inside the pattern of established democracy in Venezuela from 1958, and that it assumes in its current moment a series of modifications in working political of the citizen through a bigger presence in the public space, generating the conflicts and dynamisms that are observed in the country in the current moments.
