Feuerbach’s philosophy represents a significant step in over- coming certain philosophical tradition based on purely specula- tive and metaphysical categories; and this from an ethical and anthropological understanding which is directly related to the perspective of reciprocal recognition. However, the relevance that the affective dimension reaches in Feuerbach’s ethical pro- posal problematizes the possibility of considering recognition as a normative moral content, when formulating pretensions to universality. In this sense, this paper offers a reflection on Feuerbach’s ethics validity nowadays parting from the recon- struction of the recognition perspective and taking into account both its limits and possibilities.
