Population Increasing in Quran verses and Islamic traditional sources

Abstract

One of the issues that plays a significant role in the progress and development of each country is the matter of population and its growth. But unfortunately in recent years in our country, the rate of fertility and population growth has decreased noticeably due to exploitation strategies. We can predict that in near future, our society has to deal with senescence. Some theorists believe that we should consider the development of population and its quality more seriously by regarding the facilities, capacities and religious, social, cultural and economic factors.What we conclude from Quran verses and Islamic traditional sources, is an emphasis on the growth of population in all times and this emphasis is not limited to the time when Muslims are in minority. Because the mentioned statements in traditions are regarded as a true proposition and permanent policy of Islam, so as the early decree says, generation reproduction and population growth is the matter which Ahl-al-beit have much recommended. Of course the decree of generation reproduction is general for all Muslims in all temporal and spatial situations (the early decree).
