Media Literacy Policy Analysis of Education Transformation Documents of the Islamic Republic of Iran

The purpose of this study is to analyze media literacy policy in educational transformation documents. The research method is qualitative from documentary-analytical type.The research community of documents related to media literacy policy is the theoretical foundations of the document of fundamental change in education(2011) and the document of fundamental )change in education(2011). The unit for analyzing document propositions is about media literacy policy. These propositions were purposefully selected and continuously analyzed and interpreted simultaneously with the data collection process. Findings indicate that there are inconsistencies between the two documents in media literacy policy. However, both documents address some of the individual and environmental dimensions of media literacy policy. Among the components considered in the individual dimension, attention to the cognitive component is low attention to the technical factor and inattention to the communication factor.Among the components considered in the contextual or environmental dimension, attention to determining media literacy policies, media industry platform, balanced formation of media industry, information society civil society, media literacy system design and media content production in Both documents.The experience of e-learning during the Corona era in the educational system of the Islamic Republic showed that despite serious steps taken at the level of media literacy policy, but in implementing the above policies, the education system is just beginning.
